"Commercial Hacks" forum?
Although I don't have a problem with people creating hacks and wanting some compensation for doing so, I don't think hacks which have to be paid for should be in the same forum as the general 'free for all' hacks - particularly since most users cannot afford to pay for hacks, and vB.org (which provides these forums as a free service) get nothing in return.
Would this be possible? :beard: |

I agree with you to a certain extent.
I am one of the lucky ones that don't have to count every penny I spend, bu I'll be damned if I'll let someone rip me off with some third rate hack or something lame as hell. I program PHP for a living, and while I might not be a guru or anything like that, I do feel that I have enought experience to call a hack for crap when I see it. Granted, most of my professional work can not be compared to vB-code, as my daily tasks are mostly on a completely different level that this. But still - crap is crap - and asking money for some simple stuff like creating a table, manipulating this and making sime templates to make it's appearance easy to modify, just pises me off. You-Know-Who, come back when you get hair on your genitalias, and you have enough common sence to not bash and assfsck peeps who are only critizising what they consider poor work from a genious. |

My last post was obviously influenced by what happened in the vbRides - no ordinary photo album .
What can I say... This dude just crossed my line... |

I dont like the idea at all. If someone chooses to sell their hacks it should be from their own web site, not vB's.

Xanthine, I agree - but people will still want to post about them, and I think a 'commercial' forum would be the best place so they're not mixed in with hacks that people have generously made available for download.

A commercial forum of some sort will be opened soon. Rules need to be worked out to keep things under control and not make it a commercialized hell, but things are being worked on.
Xanthine: Just like we allow advertisements for graphics service, it is only fair we do the same for hacking (since this is what this site is all about). You have an advertisement yourself and I'm sure you wouldn't want it to go away, would you? Anyway, please leave vBRider alone. I've cleaned the thread and moved it to a more appropriate forum, and please don't just continue the flame war there. |

could a commercial forum have the effekt, that most people will try to sell hacks and only few people put it into "general hacks" for free?

I hope not.

If for one would charge for a hack here. If I made some huge thingy that I felt needed some compensation to share, I'd do that elsewhere.
I fear that the whole community-feel will be hurt by adding a place to sell hacks. |
