Default .wav file attachments...
My forum members are motor heads.....
they've been asking me to add a feature so they can attach .wav file that will be clickable and of course....PLAY!

any ideas on how to do this one???

Attaching wav files would be a killer on space and bandwith ...

If your set on doing it, you can allow .wav files to be uploaded somewhere in the admin panel.

I am sure there's a neat javascript out there that will give you play buttons and such - which you can then toss in a vbcode.

you can install my upload hack i made and let users upload wav files that they can play, saves mysql space, also i made a vbcode that can set the background music of a thread

can you give me the vbcode so that users can set certain background music? that sounds cool...

vB Code replacement:

use option: yes

example:

Allowing users to set their own backgroun sounds?

Whats to stop them from getting a 20mb wav file uploaded and then putting in the bbcode to load the 20mb wav, it might annoy some users if they go to a page and it crashes their browser as it attempts to download and play this wav file.

true, but so far my users use it responsibly, they know if they break the rules theyll be permently banned from the forums, i also stated if they abuse any codes on the forum theyll be banned and so far they been

i have around 30+ vbcodes on my forums you can basicly create smal webpages in a post with them lol, people like them and havnt been abusing them so im happy
