Maximum threads / post per day per usergroup
Developer Last Online: Sep 2026
Ok this one was requested by someone in the releases forum.
It has 7 file edits, 1 to newreply.php, 1 to newthread.php and 5 to usergroup.php. 1 query to run and 1 new template to add. vbHacker (see my sig) will do that for you. Anyway, the hack let's you choose how many posts / threads (individually) users from a usergroup can post per day. It means you can give newbies a limit so they don't flood your boards. And you can disable the feature for usergroups by setting the values to 0. Anyhow, have fun. ![]() Show Your Support

I just installed this hack. It works like a charm and it's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot FireFly. Your vbHacker is a great tool to install hacks. Wonderful job.

![]() [/high] Nice hack, perfect for stopping the spam Don't mean to hijack the thread, but can someone point me in the direction of a hack for making a "Top threads" box on the front page like on http://www.marietje.nl/vbb/? Thanks :squareeyed:

Err cough... ok I am having the problem firefly... when I set the posts per day.. I can only set it to 1 to get it to work.. any other number just gives me the normal posting screen. But when I put 1 it works.. but then no one can post at all. Then when I do get the error message the error says I can only post 8 posts a day when that is the thread number...

Works great for me. There is a problem though, that the template always shows the thread number but I'll fix that later. The hack itself works perfectly.

Or you can just add another word variable instead of a new template...
