This may be a bit off topic but... When version 3 comes out, will the hacks applied to 2.x boards work in any form? What I'm getting at is this... My board is pretty new... There are a number of hacks that I'd like to apply as they would be very useful, but if when v3 comes out my end users suddenly lose the functions they always had, that would be a bad thing... So I'm thinking that at this stage of the game it might be better to leave the board un-hacked? The timeline for v3 of course would play a big part of that... Ideas?

In all likelihood virtually all current hacks will have to be rewritten for vB 3.0. The only exceptions may be hacks that don't alter the standard vB PHP files.

That's right. To begin with, most of the files were renamed / moved, so that means you won't be able to find what you need to edit. And even "standalone" hacks will need to be rewritten because of the new permissions system.

major bummer... Sure hope the quick reply box is either incorporated in v3 or the fix is updated quickly... I don't think my users are capable of figuring out the normal reply box, lol... I had to make almost 80% of the registration default b4 anyone would take a stab at it...

Do we have an estimated release of vB 3.0 yet?
