URGENT******My boards were HACKED · **Released**: 03-17-2002

Hey, I need help ASAP guys!

I went on to my boards and to my suprise there was only 1 admin now which I have no clue who he is, he changed my name, changed my pass, and my email, HELP?!?!??!?!

um there is a file called getadmin i think or something like that. Uploaded it your admin dir and run it. DELETE IT AFTER YOU HAVE USED IT. there is loads about it on Vbulletin.com

I've been noticing in the forums that this has been going on quite a bit lately. Is this a vbulletin hole or simply admins with easy passwords or what?

I got admin back, and now I will be watching very closely, and I have 3 very loyal friends who are the other admins as well who will be helping me out.

Yes indeedie, I am using v2.2.2 but you see, I would update vesions, but well....I already have so many hacks/template modifcation/custom things done that if I do I heard Iwould have to do it ALL over again?

It's easy to know what files to modify to upgrade the board.

You just have to know what files and templates were changed.

You heard wrong. Your template mods will stay through the upgrade. Then use Araxis Merge or Beyond Compare to move your hacks into the new PHP files. It doesn't take that long if you do it that way. In the mean time, you should at least password protect your admin directory.

i have htacess etc on my admin cp now

they sent me an email in russian i don't know what it says

the admin directory in through my FTP client? That what you're referring too?
