I was just at a warez board (been looking for v2.2.2 for ages, anyone got that? ), and they had the Lockdown hack installed.
And I must tell you, that it's one of the most useless hacks I have ever seen and used. Sure it hides the text in showthread and you must reply to see it and all... but when you hit Quote on the post you can see the full text in the textarea!
i still dont see the use of a lockdown hack, you are only getting people to spam the forum with "thank you" messages which they dont even mean.
i remember i saw a lockdown hack on a warez board before, but as firefly said you could just quote the message to see it, plus you could click to get a printable thread and see everything.
you have no possibility of knowing if vb is run illegal or not on a warez board, cuz they might have bought a license.

Actually if i'm correct you are able to pay a price to remove the copyright notice.

As for Warez, it's been giving me some problems lately so I haven't been using it. Not to mention how much porn pops up...not that it is a bad thing...
hmm...My site has "warez links" on it, only cuz it's what seems to draw people in the most...But I set one strict rule on that and it was nobody was allowed to request vBulletin or UBB. I bought my vBulletin b/c I believe it's a great piece of software and deserves the support. And I believe strongly in the theory of "if you like the product, buy it". If you don't support software companies, then they won't be encouraged to make more software or games that many people like. So if I do download what many call "warez" its to test it out, because a lot of the time the demo's don't allow access to the full features. That's just my $0.02 on the subject of "warez"
