Paying for Hacks

Just curious what the policy here is for offering money for made and installed hacks? I didn't notice anything in the board rules so I figured I'd ask.

I plan to purchase a VB in the next week or so. But I need some serious customizing. I figured I'd throw some money behind it to lure someone to make it and install it in a timely manner. Of course it could then be freely distributed later as it's the creators hack(s). I think what I have in mind is a good idea and could be redone to work well for other boards too. I'll go into it more later after I build some graphics to explain what I want done.

But for now I was just curious about the paying for hacks issue.

Now I feel dumb, there is a post below called "Design Board For $$$/ & vB question" from a guy that spells his name the same as me.

Still it doesn't go much into answering my question.

Depending on the level of customization you want and what you want done, I'm sure you can find someone here who can do it for you.

If you are just looking for a lot of already done hacks to be installed on your board and wish to pay for it I'm sure you can find some folks that would gladly do it. There are some of us here who even do such things for a living :P

What sort of work are you needing done?

Basically I need redone profiles. I run a filmmaking site. I need the profiles to ask questions that aren't so messageboard generic. I need it to ask questions like:
1 "What are your favorite films"
2"Professional level (amature, indie, paid pro)"
3"What skills do you have?(scroll down box witht he ability to choose multiple choices) "
4 Gender
5 Location (Country- state- city) Country and state being choosen from a pull down menu and city being typed in.

Plus many more

I also need several of these things to be searchable. So I need the search engine redesigned as well. I want my members to be able to find people located by them based on age, pro level, skills, gender, etc.

I would assume it's pretty detailed. But this same design would work great for a dating board and possible other board types where you need to find members as well.

Like I said I am going to put togetehr some graphics to beetter explain the layout.

Thats very dooable, in fact I think BradC may have something similar, not sure if searchable yet though.

You can do all that in vB3 so you may want to wait on paying for a hack.

so what else can we do in vb3, you care to tease us with some features, I want at least 5 new features, and what is this cms everyone is talking about

so are you saying that vb3 will come with more than hmmmm lets say 10 hacks installed, a front end portal like vbportals
hmmm lets see, what else, hmmmmmm
