Exclude Custom BBCode from Preview

I've got a custom bbcode that does a direct replacement that gets a bit wonky when the post is previewed before posting and the replacement is left instead of re-doing the original code.

Is there a way to have the preview exclude a specific bbcode? I don't mind making a plugin or doing a file edit.
