How do I change main forum colors and topic background colors for this grayish and white to medium brown and light brown, see pic for reference. Thanks

There is a theme called Grunge with default vb5 install package colors are almost same as your screenshot.

Thanks but I am looking for to have it just like or as close as possible but I need detailed instructions for me to get it done. Can someone help me?

You could find some video tutorials here. What you are searching for is stylevar changing. AdminCP-> Styles -> Style Manager ... at the right you see a dropdown for each style.... Look for "Style Variable Editor" at your styles dropdown. There you could change everthing you need.
