i just know the new version of vbulletin cann't see user's

password even use phpmyadmin!!

but the old version of vbulletin u can use phpmyadmin to see

user's password!

vBulletin 2.2.0 and above use MD5 encryption. The only way to get the passwords is by brute force. You would have to have a program for example that would try a, encrypt it, and then see if it matches the encrypted password you put into the program. This is called brute force and it can take hours per password.

In vb 2.2.0 and up, you can't view user passwords.

PERIOD.

t's impossible.

Yes you can, like damicatz said, by using brute force on the password (if you have the encrypted value).

Sure it takes a lot of time.

I think it was a good idea encrypting passwords from version 2.20 and above. Now users cannot complain about their privacy regarding their passwords being seen

The password is obviously stored as MD5 encyrpted... so how in the world does the system email users their lost passwords? Am I missing something here?

It doesn't. It mails them a link to change their password.

encrypted passwords are the best thing they did for 2.2.0, a while back a rival website owner obtained my password from his database and used it to give himself admin priveliges on my website.
