Default 2019 and still no Social Media auto embeds.

What a disgrace.

I have asked repeatedly for help in these forums. (for months) Put in hours upon hours of work myself trying to figure it out. (the one Dev who knows AME 3 inside and out has his nose stuck so high up in the air it's amazing he doesn't trip over his own feet)

Even offered to pay and hired outside help. (hired 4 diff people, zero could figure it out)

No devs can be bothered.

The now defunct AME 3 mod no longer works and nobody will support it.

But what is a true AFFRONT to those of us who shelled out hundreds of dollars to buy this prehistoric software is that auto embed is not a core part of VB 4 & 5.

Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram ...a NO BRAINER.

Soundcloud, Stitcher, LastFM ...some more obvious choices.

ATROCIOUS lack of support, and complete disdain for your customers.

It's as if you hate your own product and are trying to FORCE US to move to Xenforo.

AME is owned by one developer who did not mark it as reusable code so it would be illegal for anyone to rewrite it and offer it publicly.

Automatically connecting with social media would violate more laws than I care to list here. You cannot exchange data with third parties without express written consent for every data exchange and without express written consent to every term and policy of everyone involved in said exchange.

Moving to another forum software isn't going to change those facts.

I'm not sure where you get that idea. There are APIs written for each site I listed just for that purpose. Wordpress does it. Xenforo does it. IN fact AME 3 still does it for Youtube. The dev for AME 3 posted that the mod was available for all to pick up and run with, he just forgot to hit hit the reusable button. But as it states in the AME 3 thread, along with the link to The Geek's post ...he gave permission, which is how Digital Jedi was able to make a mod with it.

I get a good portion of it from the Google v. Oracle decision which has recently been appealed to the Supreme Court Of The United States. SCOTUS has yet to grant a writ of certiorari and may elect to reject the appeal. In short the ruling says that APIs are copyright protected and cannot be reproduced for public use under fair use exception to copyright. That makes it impossible for third party software such as vBulletin to legally code APIs for any software other than their own. It's a nightmare ruling for software development.

If what you say about AME is true, and I have no reason to doubt that it is as all I did was take a cursory glance at the mod then maybe Mark Daniel Martinez (DigitalJedi) has new definitions posted somewhere. I've never looked.
