I noticed that many files are changed from 2.03 to 2.2.1 and the Stars hack does not work. I mean there are so many changes in the files and coding so you cannot go through the installation properly. Somebody please make an updated version of the stars hack that works with vBulletin 2.2.1

If there is already one, please post the link in this thread, otherwise someone please consider making one.

The above link is a txt file with instructions for 2.2.0. Since 2.2.1 doesn't have many major changes (It's primarly a bug fix) these instructions should work on 2.2.1 as well.

Just be sure to view the txt file in a text editor and not through your browser.

I tried to rehack 2.2.0 and had some problems, in fact my newreply.php is still unhacked...

nevermind I figured out how to access that page

had to add my name to the licence page

i followed the directions in that txt file & all the directions of the 2.0.3 install...... (i installed it successfully once before on 2.0.3)

but i noticed some dicrepencies when installing this hack...

although i setup the stars and the stars show up in the cp....

all i see is a blank area where the stars "should" be oon the board...

would misc.php or register.php have anything to do with that.... cuz those are the only 2 files i know 4 sure something wasn't right with.. for example step 3 of the misc.php....

i couldnt even find that one....

The Stars Hack is working great on my board, I have 2.2.1 running and the stars hack works fine, looks, fine, loads fine, ect. I did exactly what the install files said (just had to modify the paths to the stars images - that was it though).

I dunno why others can not get it installed (I had to switch servers so I download a new copy of vBulletin from the M. Area and uploaded, installed, then uploaded my backups of my database and styles, then finally placed the stars hack back on the board).

Maybe I was just lucky?
