vB tag to ignore line breaks

A slightly odd one. I need to create a custom vB code which ignores line breaks between the tags when the post is displayed (but doesn't actually change the appearance in the edit window).

Any idea how I would do that? I tried using [nobr] (and the html equivalent) but that didn't work.
