Linux File Permissions
Our vBulletin is running on a Linux server. Should any of the system files have the execute attribute set? I logged into our server this morning and noticed that all the files had had the execute attribute set. I don't remember seeing that the last time I logged in, and I didn't make the change. We do have a new Administrator, and it's possible he made the change; haven't asked him yet. File ownerships are correct.

Files are usually 644 and folders 755. Most shared hosts set it this way too.
Of course it'll have to be 777 on folders that people upload files to such as attachments/signaturepics, etc. |
