Default Payments.php permissions/features

Greetings!

My forum is dedicated to technical support revolving around game servers, dedicated servers, web hosting, and applications. I intend to offer recurring products and services through my forum that I believe vBulletin handles very well without the need to purchase external billing software, especially for someone trying to get their site off the ground with minimal resources but a lot of time and effort that will pay off in the end.

I would like to make my payments.php page visible to the unregistered users, but they can not order without an account. Currently, no one can view this page unless logged in.

This page for example:
https://overclockedlan.pro/threads/5...-64GB-DDR4-RAM)

If you take a look at the page, you will see that I have a "Buy Now" button on the bottom. This button links back to the payments.php page where the user can then choose this server (or future standalone services and subscriptions).

Furthermore what I am wondering, is if there is a way I can directly link to said subscription. The only thing I see at the end of the URL is do?=order or something like that, which is pretty generic. There is no ID to tell the URL exactly what subscription I am looking for.

I know that this feature of vBulletin isn't necessarily used for this, but it is perfect for where I want to be right now. It also integrates the way I want to; flawless.

Is there a plugin to further enhance the capabilities of vBulletin paid subscriptions? I am not looking for something like the eCommerce plugin that is now un-supported, and out of date with errors out of the box. Additionally, it has too many features that I do not require. I enjoy the simplicity of the vB paid subs.

Would even appreciate something along the lines of a category instructional or plugin that could be added.

Would modifying the paid subscriptions feature be as simple as modifying the payments.php code itself? Or should I expect to also look at includes if I am taking this route?

Thanks.

Right now payments.php is pretty much integrated into the UserCP page. It's possible to do what you want, but you'll have to make quite some modifications.
  • Remove any requirement that the user is logged in.
  • Modify the template so people who are not logged in don't see UserCP related things.
  • Adjust the information vBulletin stores in the database when someone makes a payment (paymentinfo table). It's used to check if it's a valid payment when the payment provider pings back to vBulletin. If a valid payment has been made, it uses the information in the paymentinfo table to update the users settings.
    • Along with this, you have to modify payment_gateway.php which handles incoming requests from payment providers.
    • Instead of modifying payment_gateway.php, you could create your own payment gateway script which you can modify exactly to your needs. This would probably be easier.
