Default vBulletin 5 Request - Petition of new buttons: ?Read More?; Expand-Collapse all; Chanel to show ALL threads

Hi Admins, we have a vB5 forum license and have talked to Lynne at our Ticket Support Area: https://www.vbulletin.com/issue.php?...hcode=3e117cdc

Lynne has suggested we register in this forum to ask the following questions:

Please, do you know if there already exists or if it could be custom created the 3 following options?

(1) Button: ?Read more?.

We?d like to use it in our forum for long texts, so that we show only the first part of a long text, and the user can clic on it (?read more?) to read the whole text.

(2) Button: ?Expand all. Collapse all.?
?Save Prefs. Revert Prefs.?

It would be an option (or combination of buttons) similar to the one in the ?CP Admin? (Administration Control Panel) located on the left hand side upwards which says.

(3) Lynne has told us that the following configuration option is not yet available but could be custom created, and we?d like to ask you how could that be done and who could do it. Let me explain you briefly what the option should do:

Let?s suppose that our forum had 4 different channels (C#1, C#2, C#3, C#4,), each with their own list of threads (many threads per channel).

If a user enters each of those different 4 channels, he-she would see the different threads inside each one of those 4 channels.

So, would it be possible to have a fifth channel (channel C#5) so that users could see inside C#5 all the threads of the 4 channels at the same time?

In other words, C#5 should show the user in the same place (in a single screen shot) all the threads of the 4 main channels of the forum.

Lynne thinks that option #3 could be done as follows:

Lynne says, quote: ?A thread can only be located in one channel. If you wanted to have another channel that contained all the threads from all of the channels, you would need to create this custom channel/page yourself. You could probably just have a PHP module and do a query to grab all the threads. If you needed help doing that, you would need to ask for help over on vbulletin.org, the modification site.? [end quote]

Please, could anybody help us with those 3 points?

Thanks.

Hi Admins, we?d like to add some clarifications about the questions we posted in our previous post plus a few additional questions. We have already asked Lynne these questions at our Ticket area:

https://www.vbulletin.com/issue.php?...hcode=3e117cdc

? but we post it here too in order to clarify our previous questions and just in case anybody else may help with it:

We have 7 more questions:

(1) What I meant in my last post is that once we get the right coding for any new option (For instance, for the ?Read more? button), where and how should the new coding be included in the vB5 software so that we can use it for our forum?

For instance, should that new coding be included in certain vB5 internal files, or somewhere inside the Admin CP, or where exactly?

(2) In the main page of our forum (here: www.redavatar.es ), you?ll see that we have added descriptive text below the title of each channel. We added the text in the [Admin CP ? Channel Manager ? Edit Channel ? Description box (below the title box)]

Question 2-a: how can we adjust the format and font style of that text (E: bold, italic, colour, margins, etc.)? I?ve tried using the coding they use in phpBB forums (Ex: ?, ?, ?) but it doesn?t work. Should we use other types of symbols, perhaps HTML or CSS symbols?

Question 2-b: in that Description box, could we add an option (in HTML coding, or whatever) to include the button ?Read more? in the middle of the description text?

That way, the users will only see the first few lines of the description text, and will have to click on the ?Read more? button to see the whole text.

(3) In the same place as above [Admin CP ? Channel Manager ? Edit Channel ? Description box (below the title box)], couldn?t the vBulletin software include an advanced font style editor, so that it will be easier to modify the font style?

(4) In the main page of our forum (here: www.redavatar.es ), that?s one place where we?d like to use the buttons ?Expand All, Collapse All?, in a similar way as vBulletin does it in the ?Admin CP? website with the list of configuration options (Ex: CMS, Styles, Help, Notices, Channel Management, etc.)

In the main page of our forum (here: www.redavatar.es ), the users could choose between (a) seeing only the main titles of each channel (Collapse All) or (b) seeing the titles with the full descriptive text below it (Expand All).

Question: do you know if there is any way we could do that in our forum with any current or standard configuration option of the vB5 software?

(5) Question about templates capabilities. We?d like for the style of our forum to look very similar to the Avalon forum style:
http://projectavalon.net/forum4/forum.php

Question 5-a: do you know if the are any vB5 style templates that look similar to the vB4 Avalon forum style template?

Question 5-b: besides the standard and default vB5 templates (Black Red, Blue Green, Denim, Gradient, etc.), where can we find more different templates?

(6) You said that vB5 is completely different from vB4. We wonder why you said it (?), since we thought that vB5 was simply an updated and more modern version of vB4, but perhaps it isn?t?

(7) We are from Spain and speak Spanish. Do you know if vBulletin has support forums in Spanish?

Thanks a lot.

You posted in the unpaid mod requests forum and you are asking for tons of things. I recommend you to post in the paid section and hire someone to do all these for you.
