Help Req: How to Set a Different Postbit Background based on Usergroup

The title should hopefully explain it, but I'm looking for some assistance on how to change the background color of the postbit for different usergroups. Practical example: On our video game forums, a developer posts and his/her post is easily identified by its pink postbit.

I researched some ways on how to do this with older versions of vb and postbit legacy but it doesn't seem to apply to vb 5 Connect unless I'm missing something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This will require a template hook that contains a script to add the usergroupid to the <li> element of the post.
