Merge Users question

An existing member had been inactive for several months and created a new member account. I used the Merge Users function to combine the two accounts.

Before I did the merge, I went to the original account's profile page and viewed the posts that the member had created several months ago under the original identity. Some of those posts had been soft-deleted by staff but were still searchable and viewable via the Find latest posts link on the original account's profile page. Once I did the merge, though, the Find latest posts link on the new destination account's profile page would not retrieve the soft-deleted posts, despite that its post count identically reflects all of the posts from the deleted source account.

I executed an Update Titles and Ranks action and a Rebuild Thread Information action but nothing changed as far as the soft-deleted posts not being retrievable. I then did a Rebuild Search Index action, but still nothing has changed. Those soft-deleted posts seem to be gone/inaccessible now.

Does anyone have thoughts as to why this happened?

EDIT:
Never mind. The posts are now back and retrievable. It seems there's a long delay before the database is fully updated and usable after performing the maintenance functions. It took about 20 minutes for the posts to be accessible again once those functions had completed. So all is well.
