Create a unique custom style with just a few clicks!

Styles can be wonderful, a way to truly customize your vBulletin forum however on occasion can hinder your site as well. Most vBulletin forum owners know what a style is, some refer to them as "themes" which is also acceptable but the one thing many of us know of more so than anything are the issues that can arise.
  • Updating Styles (not all styles work with certain version of vBulletin).
  • Template merges (sometimes they go well, other times not so much).
  • Those times when you want to upgrade but can't. A newly updated version of your style's .xml file is not available or the original developer no longer supports the style.
  • For some owners, customizing a style is simply too complex despite articles available in an attempt to assist all owners it can be "too much" for some, which is understandable considering the countless style variable edits required, needing to know which stylevar changes which particular aspect of the site and also what css definitions to change since not everything is covered in stylevars etc.

I've come to find out that many sites forego custom styles altogether and simply retain the default due to one if not more of the above issues listed - which I consider quite sad as many of these communities are huge with unique content and deserve a custom style to showcase their talents and knowledge! I wanted to design a plugin that allows you to select a few colors then save and presto-chango a new custom style!

Quote:
This modification changes various forum css and style variable colors easily to avoid countless stylevar edits thereby creating a custom style with minimal effort involved! Upgrades and template merges not affected, plugin works around standard css.
Features:
- Works with ALL versions of vBulletin 4 series (tested from vB4.1.1 all the way up to vB4.2.5).
- Customizes all areas of vBulletin. (PRO)
- Designed using custom css templates (or saves files depending on css storage settings).
- Css template/page inclusion on certain pages required to customize style. (PRO)
- Ability to select which styles to apply customization. (PRO)
- Excludes Mobile Style so it's not affected (Older versions of vB did not have a mobile style therefor will not be affected). (PRO)
- Ability to rebuild styles from mod settings. (PRO)
- CMS + Blog Support. (PRO)

The mod available here on vBulletin.org is the Lite version, copyright must stay intact to use. Please note that, the lite version does quite a bit however a few miscellaneous updates to stylevars might be required due to how it functions and you should be able to use my article to adjust accordingly and pull off one unique style that is not affected when upgrading! The pro version functions differently without the need for adjustments however as with all pro versions of mods, it's not to be discussed here, PM me for more details or view the product page.

Demo: http://www.innovationbyinstinct.com/...php?styleid=39
*Mod is only enabled in this style i.e. ID#39. **Site uses custom CMS Layout, looks "off" in demo - will not when in-use.

Installation:
- Import the file product-innovative_stylecss-lite.xml
- AdminCP > Settings > Options > Innovative Custom Style CSS > *Enable the mod.
- Select styles to apply customization. (PRO)
- Save and Enjoy!

*Code is not to be re-used. Do not distribute to third-party nulled/hacking type sites - I do not give permission. The ONLY person allowed to re-use ANY of the code in this mod is MarkFL, he actually approved me using some of his therefor I consider that a fair trade!

Common Questions & Answers:

Q: I changed a color and it's not showing when I view the forum?
A: Due to how the lite version differs from the pro, the lite version may require rebuilding of styles to reflect recent changes. You can rebuild your styles via: AdminCP > Maintenance > Update Counters > Rebuild Styles

Very useful product, Mike!

This will make adding custom edits to our styles so much easier! Installed, rated and nominated.

Waiting on wife to finish her show then time for our show lol!

My intention was to transform a 100% default style into a custom style, so it's not like you're adding custom edits (yet we as coders know that we could simply modify the plugins of the mod and do as we wish) but instead it takes the few colors you choose and transforms the style without needing to edit all those style variables or edit any css templates.

Should be super-simple and easy to use, for any forum owner and any version of vB4. More features as time comes, yes I mean more in this version .
