How to make vbulletin not detect HTTPS URLs and not prefix it https automatically?
Hello,
my vbulletin 4.2.x site is using https by default and for future accessibility i would like to use HTTP in all links in the posts. When i, composing some post and pasting some internal forum url (to another topic for example), the vbulletin detects https in url and add https prefix, which i do NOT want. and it bothers me to countlessly change to http. Any way to stop vbulletin detecting whether pasted URL is https? Thank you alot |

/admincp/options.php?do=options&dogroup=address
Check out the URL options in there, and also make sure to check out the "Always use Forum URL as Base Path" option. Reminder though, that if by any chance the host is forced to use https by the apache OR nginx settings, then altering the base / forum url will break your forums. As for the https as replies? in posts. That has to be changed by a search/replace Database Query. On both methods, I recommend a file/database backup. |

Hence I added a question mark at "replies?" as I was merely wondering if you were referring to replies as well. Either way, change the https:// to http:// and change "Always use Forum URL as Base Path" to no. This way, users can use both http & https. If you want people to force to use http over https (EG, when people enter a https:// site, they'll be moved to http:// ) , change "Always use Forum URL as Base Path" to yes.
Make sure to change the URL under the option "Homepage URL" also http:// |
