Custom Signature - Defalt State request (include/don't include)

This may be a simple request and may not be. I am really not certain since my PHP skills are non-existent.

Here is my situation:

A large portion of the vBulletin board I run is Role Playing related, and our role players for the most part have inline images for signatures, some larger than others, but most pretty reasonable in size.

A great number of these posters only like to include their signature file within their first(initial) post to a thread and then the remainder of their replies have it switched off, for speed of loading and convenience of scrolling.

That leads me to my request:
Would it be possible to add an option to the option section of the user control panel to select the default state of the “Show Signature’ box within New Replies and New posts. Something along the lines of:

Default state of “Show Signature” option within replies/new posts -Checked(include)/Unchecked(off)

The vast majority of members at my community are former and current users of ezboard and they have such an option within their user control panel, worded like so:

“Use Custom Signature”

With a checkbox which if clicked, makes the default state in the new post/new reply on and if unchecked it makes that default state unchecked.

My wording may not be the best and I hope my request makes sense, but my community(including myself) would very much appreciate such an option.

From what I am able to tell that does make it so that only their first post has the option automatically checked and includes the custom signature file, but would it be possible to add an option to the user control panel to set the default state? Some users are used to unchecking the box and if I were to implement this hack that you linked me to, they would then habitually re-check the box, instead of unchecking it, and thus include their signature in each and every post.

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the already existing hack, I just want to try and make it work optimally for as many users as possible.
