Multiplayer Texas Hold'em Game for VB4/5

Hi all,

First time posting here to let you know that I am going to add support for VB4 and VB5 for a great multiplayer texas hold'em game which can be installed on your own site and have members playing together.

I should be able to post a demo clip soon as I'm testing first with VB5.

I'll give more details on the game features later but there is sit'n go and scheduled tournament.

Everything is external running as a web application but uses vb4/5 authentication system which is blowfish for vb5, retrieving member's avatar to display in game.

Sound good, isn't it! Wait til you hear everythig is FREE to install.

The avatars are pulled out from forums to display in game.

Members of your community do not have to do anything to login to the game using their existing credentials. But if they lost money, then you have either has them donate to get more money!




Why a new one? There is already an existing add-on already. Haven't played it but I did play on the fist one on VB3.x back then.

Well, it's a little bit different. It has more variants like Crazy Hold'em, Omaha, Telesina, 5/7 Stud. Sit and go tournaments and scheduled are also there.

Cubeia Ltd got credits for the game they have made open source and dropped back in May 2014 but their source code repository is available to use providing you abide to AGPL 3 open source clauses.

But with the great poker game they have provided and tested for years in production sites through customers, it is one of the gems free out there.

So what's the catch? Why nobody uses it?

One of the answers I can give is you can not use it as it is out of the box. You need to develop something to get it work.

For years consulting with them and asking help and inputs, I've developed and came up with a solid and stable bridge to interface the game to any type of forum which I only file this year to the open source community allowing anyone to use it free.

That's about it. I'll try to set up a demo vb site for testing purposes so you can get a look and feel of the game play. It's pretty blazing fast and including real-time chat in game .

It should be a couple of days as I just figured out how vb encoded password using powerful bcrypt using latest scheme format when your version of php is > 4.

Now I have finished code for the authentication for vb5, I'm moving next to retrieving avatars from forum. It's still a pain since vb5 stored avatar in blob in database which I need to pull them out to display but it's getting along.

I will first display a demo video clip showing the work in progress. Next I will install in my test site. You can come along to play some tournaments.

Play money is configurable to anything you like and cash persistence is initialize at a fixed amount you wanted . I will set 100000 FPX, but if you lose everything then you will need to go to admin console to transfer more.

Table timings can go from simple to complex at your liking but the good thing you do only once and it should be good.

Man, I try to finish this faster than I can before I get busy with other stuffs. But either tomorrow night or sunday, you guys will have something to test drive it.

If your members love poker, they will be in a treat.


That's probably the best answer for the roadmap of the game right now!

Note once I will get vb5 working, vb4 authentication will be next, but vb4 is much easier and just a configuration change, you will be able to play poker for vb4 or vb5 based on your needs.

For people who don't want to sign in to forum can login through Facebook, I'll throw this in if time permits.

Hello,

This seems like a really interesting project and I wish you luck with it. A few years back someone tried a Texas Holdem Mod, they kept it up for a few months but it ultimately... folded. I wish you more success.

However please look at the site rules link in the footer of any page. We don't allow threads who's main purpose is "Self Promotion."

The best way to continue will be to post the free version when you have it, even if it is just a Beta version, in the appropriate VB4 and/or VB5 modification forums. You can solicit feedback in those threads.
