Downgrading from VB5 to VB4
I've done quite a bit of searching on this matter, so I'm not asking if it's possible, I know that it is through converting it into an IPB then using Impex to change it from IPB into VB4.
I'd like to know how difficult it is. I see some people asking as much as $500 to do this, so from that I assume it's probably very, very difficult. I have little knowledge in any type of coding, to be honest. So is it something I should probably steer clear of doing? Or are the processes mostly just clicking buttons, but it's simply time consuming? I'm asking because vBulletin 5 just kind of sucks. Lots of bugs, small avatars, and not much customization or mods. It seems like VB4 is leaps and bounds better. My site has over 200 members, however, and they've made around 20,000 posts since the site's creation last month. So I don't really want to start from nothing with it. If need be, I can probably raise $500 for a professional transfer, but it would take a while. So... What's the best course of action? |

Since there's no converter for vBulletin 5 to 4, it means that everything has to be moved manually from the database of vBulletin 5 to 4. However, since the structure of the database is different, it takes a lot more time to do this.
Your best bet would be to hire someone to do this. If you create a thread here, you might be able to find someone who will do it for less money. |
