I think they still have one template they are re-coding? At least that is what I was told a couple of weeks ago.
Does anyone know if the 'socialgroupsmessages' problem, that were in 4.2.2 versions, were addressed and fixed in 4.3.2? I'm PLANNING to upgrade late tonight US CTzone and need to know before I overwrite the 2 php files that were causing the errors (I don't want to have to go through all the editing again) before I upload all the files and and run the upgrade script after running d/b backup. Thanks for any info.......... |

Were the problems in the issue tracker (Jira)? If so then you should be able to look in there and see if they were fixed. I tried searching for socialgroupsmessages, but I couldn't tell if any of the issues in the results were the ones you were talking about.
If you're only worried about overwriting files, then you can always just rename them temporarily, until you see if the issues were fixed. Edit: are you talking about the "Warning: Declaration of vBForum_Item_SocialGroupDiscussion::getLoadQuery() should be compatible with that of ...." messages? That's listed as fixed in 4.2.3. |

Well, I tried to diff the style xml files from 4.2.2 and 4.2.3, and there are some minor differences that I think are just bug fixes. A few small templates were added (I think) for the new facebook connect code in 4.2.3. I don't *think* there were any major template changes that would force you to do a lot of work on your style. But at one point the differences became so great that I couldn't follow what was going on, so I'm not sure what that was about. It seemed to have to do with the CSS templates.
Do you have a way of copying your site to a test site then trying the upgrade there? That would probably be the best thing to do. Edit: oh, ok, when I compare 4.2.2PL4 with 4.2.3 there are fewer differences and the CSS differences went away. So it does look more like the answer is that there were only minor fixes to a few templates. |

I see 9 template changes, all minor.
I would think the auto merge would cope with most [if not all] of them. facebook_likebutton memberlist memberlist_search search_resultlist search_threadbit showthread.css SHOWTHREAD showthread_list threadbit |

I upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.2.3 without any problem with templates as long as you have no custom things in your templates it will be ok, but you would be best to put up a test server first and backup first before upgrading your live site
