how to make the proper 301 redirects

I upgraded my VB3 with vBSEO to the vb5; the old url was this http://www.scuolaforum.org/medicina/...ia-sutent.html while the new is this http://www.scuolaforum.org/forum/mat...terapia-sutent . Why I put this 301 redirect nell'htaccess and does not work? Redirect 301 /medicina/217-qualcuno-ha-avuto-esperienze-con-la-terapia-sutent.html http://www.scuolaforum.org/forum/mat...terapia-sutent
