Look in template history, your original template should be there.
Or if it is the default template, just revert it.

Make sure you also have it set to be showing the WYSIWYG in AdminCP > Settings > Options > Message Posting Options.

And, what were you doing when it took off? Did you upgrade? Did the server change? What was going on?

I've done all the above, but with no luck!

Wait, Look in your Usercp, Edit options, scroll down to the Miscellaneous Options, Message Editor Interface. Change that to Standard Editor, Save. Then look at a reply box to see if your editor returned.

OK this is the issue! I switched browsers from firefox to chrome! the editor wont show in chrome, is there a work around for this so it works in chrome?

It's done my head in for the last couple of days! I can't believe it was just a browser issue!
I only use the firefox browser for firebug css work..........
