Currently running PHP 5.2 with VB 3.7 Would like to upgrade to 3.8.9 so I can run PHP 5.5
My question is can I wait with the PHP upgrade until AFTER I upgrade vBulletin from 3.7 to 3.8.9? Will 3.8.9 work with PHP 5.2 until I upgrade it to PHP5.5? This is the first time I will be upgrading, any issues I should pay attention to? Only installed addon I can think of is vbseo. Thank you |

vBulletin 3.8.9 requires PHP 5.3.0 or greater, and MySQL 4.1.0 or greater, and cURL to be installed.

So you need to upgrade before you install/upgrade vBulletin.
Be sure to get a complete backup of your site BEFORE you upgrade PHP, MySQL etc.
