Weird bug with mobile and vBadvanced after moving to new domain
I hope someone here can help me. I'm really stuck.
I recently moved my forum from http://www.seriouscompacts.com to http://www.photographerslounge.org Everything is fine when viewing from a desktop or laptop, but from any iPad, iPhone, or Android tablet/phone, members can only view the homepage (vBadvanced CMPS index) and get a white page when viewing any discussion thread. Changing the user agent to "desktop" in the mobile browser will fix the problem, but most members won't know to do that. Disabling vBadvanced CMPS also fixes the white screen problem in threads, but of course that would mean going without vBadvanced CMPS, which is essential to my sites. I have similar sites like www.mu-43.com and www.talkemount.com that also use vBadvanced CMPS but have no issues like this. Everything was working great at www.seriouscompacts.com before the domain change. I've asked this question in the vBadvanced forum, but no reply there from the developer as of yet. Hoping that someone here can help me to figure this out. Thanks! |

Did you change the path in the index file for Vbadvanced?
I did not think Vbadvanced did well on mobile devices though.. |

I have vBadvanced disabled automatically when devices use the mobile site style, but even with the desktop style on a mobile device I get the white screens. The implementation I use works on many sites and worked on this one before the domain change.
Where to I change the path and in which index file? Thanks for your help! |

Go into the root directory of your site.. It is most likely index.php but it depends on how your site is set up. yes, it is index.php.. Go inside and you will see the area for the path. I am not sure if that is the issue though. It could be your cookie cache as well if you have not changed anything else.
I am not sure though it is the path because Vbadvanced would not be showing at all if the path was wrong. Your saying the issue is that it is not changing to the mobile theme? Right? --------------- Added 31 Aug 2014 at 20:05 --------------- It is working for me... Try clearing your browser cache and maybe your dns cache as well using ipconfig /flushdns in your windows command prompt. |

My site is working from desktop but not working from iPad (as an example). Not talking about the mobile theme. The home page loads, but clicking any thread gives a white blank page.
I have 5 sites that should work the same way: http://www.photographerslounge.org (white pages on thread view from any browser that identifies user agent as mobile regardless of using regular style or mobile style) http://www.mu-43.com (works fine) http://www.talkemount.com (works fine) http://www.leicaplace.com (works fine) http://www.fujixspot.com (works fine) Thanks again for taking a look! |

My bad..
Did you change your htaccess to suit the new domain? --------------- Added 31 Aug 2014 at 20:38 --------------- There is definitly something messed up with the mobile theme. Open the mobile theme on your desktop and look at the right side. Try installing the default mobile theme and see if that works. Just add it under styles, give it a new name and then select it in your options.. |

You're right, when the mobile theme loads, vBadvanced CMPS is supposed to be disabled, and it isn't.
For example, here is the mobile style on the problem site: http://www.photographerslounge.org/?styleid=57 Mobile theme on a non-problem site: http://www.leicaplace.com/?styleid=13 That gives me something to work at. Have to backtrack how I managed to disable vBadvanced for mobile in the past... |

That got the right column to disappear in the mobile style, and now I'm back where I was before I uninstalled vBadvanced CMPS and reinstalled it. Still getting white pages from mobile devices, irrespective of style being used.

If you want to give me admin access I will take a look in the morning for you free of charge. I am sure it is a simple fix but hard to do this way.
