Create Forum post from word file including pictures
Hi,
Is there any possibility or any modification that allows forum users to upload/convert a document written with Microsoft Word to a forum post including all pictures from the document. I know that there is a possibility to paste a formated text from Microsoft Word when in WYSIWYG mode but of course without the pictures in the document. For us (we are using vBulletin as an internal Tool in our company) this would be really usefull because most of our engineers write their reports in Word and they complain that it always takes a long time to add this informations to our forum. We are using vBulltin 4.2.2 Thanks in advance! |

I'm not aware of such plugin. It would be rather difficult since the images inside of the Word document are all locally stored. If they paste it inside of the WYSIWYG editor then it means all of the pictures will have to be uploaded somewhere and then included inside of the editor.

We convert the document to a third party format (like pdf) on upload and retain a copy of the original on the server. It is very difficult to handle all the embedded information in a word document For example an embedded excel table. We also use a simple method of embedded markers so that if the document is distributable and the device has a native APP associated to that document type. The user has an option to read the document in the native format. Anyway, a few suggestions... all of them pretty easy to implement.
All word documents are exportable, it is a matter of training your users when they save the document. |

If you have the suite, you could try exporting the Word-Dokument as HTML, strip unnecessary header and footer tags and implement it as a html article.
