Default Email notification How to?

In Canada as of July 1, 2014, there is a new Anti-Spam Legislation. I have to send out emails to all 47000 of my members to ask them to say yes or no to receiving emails from my site. This will be a big pain to go into all the profiles and update off there emails. Is there an easier way to do this automatically with the V-bulletin software?

Thanks I'll check that out. I'm not sure much about this new law, If I have done as much as I can to comply I should be OK. If I ignore it that's when things can get sticky. This mod below has an unsubscribe button on the mail tab.

Just have a link to the usercp (www.yoursite.com/profile.php?do=editoptions) where they can turn off a radio button that will stop them getting the notifications.

If you're using vBulletin 3.x or 4.x they have already chosen to receive emails from the Administrator as a registration option when they registered. They could have chosen No during registration.

You also have a pre-existing business relationship if they are already member's of your forum.

By default VB doesn't send bulk emails anyway.

I'm a legitimate business owner who uses bulk email to reach my customers. How will I be affected by these new anti-spam measures?
Legitimate businesses that use email to market their products to Canadians should not be negatively impacted by this law. The regime to allow for email marketing is based on a consumer opt-in approach, which stipulates that businesses must get consent prior to sending commercial email or have a pre-existing business relationship with a consumer.
The above are just my outsiders OPINION of course, I can't speak for Canadian laws.

I thought, wouldn't it be nice if asked directly on your Board?
so you can instantly get his answers there
