Facebook Platform

Is there any reason that my Facebook platform would quit working? When you click on the tab at the top, a window should open to log in and it does not. Also the "publish to Facebook no longer shows up by the Submit button when doing a new thread or post.

I have some plugins and template mods, so could that be doing it? Any ideas on what the trouble could be and where to start looking?

If I am logged into Facebook the profile pic shows at the top so its partially working. You can also like a thread. Running 4.2.2

Since you diid not add a link to your site, I can only guess. Most likely you have JavaScript errors from a modification that was made.

Disable the "hooks / plugin system" from the Admin Control Panel and check your browser for JavaScript errors.

Try on a different browser also disable any popup blocking plugins on your browser

Sorry about the link here it is. www.exposingsatanism.org Here is the funny part. I have 2 forums both runnning 4.2.2 The other is www.online-ministries.org/forum

It works at the online ministries site and not on the other. I disabled hooks and does the same thing in firefox.

Also here is another mystery. In Internet Explorer the facebook logo does not show up on either site. I use firefox exclusively and test only with IE because I loath it.

No pop up blocking and the sites are both allowed.

Check fb settings and check all settings in the dev app on fb as well

Reported error message, from my browser when clicking on your facebook connect button.

Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration.:
One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings.
It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains.

Check your setup for your FaceBook App, something is obviously not right there.

I am just a big dummy :erm: I was using the code and key for the other forum which was for that domain. I did not realize it had to have a separate one. I set up a new app in FB and it works now. Oh well live and learn as they say.

Well I still have problems with Face book. Specifically the Publish to face book. Here is what happens.

When I have the box checked and hit post, the face book window opens then quickly closes. I have searched the forums and have looked at things suggested in other posts. Pop ups are allowed and in fact, If I like a post, the window will come up to add the comment and it will post the like to my wall. The Publish will not post for some reason. What am I missing here?

If you have setup your connection with FaceBook correctly, then you need to look at the received responses from FaceBook. This information can be found by using the development mode of your browser.

Most likely you still do not have a valid connection to FaceBook.

Well I have no idea how to use or what to look for with the Development mode in firefox so that is out. If the like button works and posts, should'nt the publish work also?
