Default Quote Notifications for 4.2
Modification = Notify member when they are quoted.

Options - Email, Private message, flashing notification in header - Any of these or all would be great.

There is an existing mod already that sends private messages when a users post is quoted but it does not work with Vb4.2 - An upgrade would be good or a re write with the above options.

Definitely there needs to be that option where it doesn't send a PM, it just notifies - then on click, takes you to a page showing all of your quotes.

Otherwise PM inboxes can get flooded quickly and most boards (vBorg included) limit inbox size.

I am all for that but right now I would be happy with this mod either way. Your concept though sounds great especially if it went with an email to get people back to the site.

# - Another good option would be to limit by forum and usergroup, maybe active members.

The more I think about this, the more I want it.

On 4.2?

I tested and it did not work. It showed no options in the admin cpanel and it did not notify anyone.

Some sharp coder just needs to update this and make it a little more feature laden. The code is marked as reusable and it's not been supported. It's open for someone to earn him/herself a MOTM.

Thanks again for fixing this!

##Just a little improvement for you guys that are worried about bothering members and filling up message quotas.

Simply change the phrasing for:

quotenotify_message
quotenotify_emailmessage

Add some text explaining to members how they can disable or change the notifications and add a link to the usercp as well if you wish.
