image dispayed when sharing forum links

Posting links from the forum only ever give 1 image option which is the default one.

Is there a way of changing this to pull the first image posted in the thread post instead?

Posting links to where? When I post links to my forum, they look like links with no image.

Like on reddit for example. if i share a link, it posts the image on the default forum image set in the ACP rather than an image in the thread

It's some software on their site that is getting the image. They would need to modify their code to allow you to pick your image.

Even on facebook with their picking software it does give you that option.

As an example,
someone shared their profile on facebook for people to add them there



It shows the default image as the only option. I think this is probably really bad if people keep seeing this same image on everything.

It would be much better if other platforms could detect an image in the post like when you share something from thedailymash or other blog sites, you get the image from their post. Im pretty sure this is an issue with vbulletin and not fb or reddit

But that is someone in the interface with Facebook. If you post your thread link here, it won't do that, because it is site specific.
