Top of post question
Hello all..
Not sure if I got the title right or not but allow me to explain. Example A: When a quote is made and a user clicks on the little arrow icon in the quote bubble, they are taken to the post no matter it's whereabouts in the thread. When the page displays, it always displays with the post in full view. i.e. starting at the posthead. Example B: It is exactly the same with the 'see more' link in activitybit forum post etc... The post always shows up correctly in view of the reader. What I need to know is what determines the place at where the page lands? Put another way. What is it that places the posthead in the correct position and displays the post in full view? Put another way. How does the post know where to land on the page? How can this be changed so it lands a centimeter lower for example? Thanks. Hope it wasn't as confusing to read as was to write out. |

The postid, say "1234", is in the URL and that puts you in the correct place via the anchor tag, <a name="post1234">, in the source code/template.

It's probably not the best place to ask but my query is in relation to this..
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...=297763&page=2 Specifically in the same thread this https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....8&postcount=18 I want to try and sort this out for others but the chap is not responding. The mod works generally but this issue is annoying. Thanks for the response as always |

Clicking the example link in that thread shows me a style that works just fine when I click to view the post, so perhaps it is your own style where it isn't working.

It does seem to work yes but allow me to demonstrate exactly what I mean by using the link below.
http://www.corvetteworld.dk/forums/forum.php?styleid=7 If you click on the link and when the page pops up, click on any go to last post arrow icons and you will see that the posthead containing the date and number of the post is clipped. i.e obscured. |

Well, that's because it vanishes behind your fixed navbar, obviously. There's nothing I instantly could think of that you could do about it.

I tried to create this sticky top bar myself some time ago and had succeeded but because of this exact issue, I stopped. I know there is a way to do it as I stumbled on it but have forgotten. Hopefully the developer has now become aware of it himself and is bothered enough by it to fix it. |

Have you tried writing some CSS to fix it? Or tried modifying the postbit template to move the anchor?
All of this really should be discussed in the thread though so that others with the modification installed can help with the issue. (I don't have the mod installed, so I really can't offer any specific solution.) |

As you say, I will leave it for now, I have left some commentary in the developers. See what becomes of that.
Thanks anyhow.. I will look at the postbit template. |
