Can I change the sender when using the "Send email to users" option?
Hi,
I'd like to change the sender of the email when using the "Send to users" email options. I'd like that the sender could be a word and not and email. For example I'd like the sender the name of the website and not an email of the website or at least the option "NAME OF THE SITE" dem@nameofthesite.com Is that possibile? thanks |

I don't see how you could do it without making changes to the code. The "From" field on that form will only accept an email address, and if you put in anything that doesn't look like an email address, you will get the "Please fill in all required fields" error.
It seems like it should be a minor change because the vbulletin email functions allow specifying something like "NAME OF THE SITE <dem@nameofthesite.com>". But I tried just taking out the check for email address format and I didn't get any emails at all, so I'm not sure what's going on. |

I'd wager your outbound emails will get marked as spam/phising emails because the sender domain and sender IP (of the vB server or SMTP server) don't match.
