auto-affiliating links

Hi,
Sorry if this is in the wrong section. It seemed like the best fit to me.

I currently have a phpBB forum and was looking to set up something where links to products on sites were automatically affiliated with my affiliate info.

After not having much luck, i thought about migrating over to vbulletin if i can get this feature going.

I am not looking for something that will change keywords, i am looking to take an existing link to a product on a site like Amazon or Best buy and to turn that info an affiliate link so i can generate revenue from it.

Are there any mods for vb that will do that? If so, what are the options and what do you people with experience recommend?

The only mod that I know of that can do this is Automatic Media Embedder for Vb 3.8. It was designed for embedding things like YouTube videos but it can alter any link with the right regular expression.

But it could probably be done with a custom plugin for the sites you want.

However I would suggest you use something like Skimlinks instead- they will give you a javascript that will automatically turn links to thousands of sites into referral links without having to worry about individual programs. You can disable their "skim words" feature which turns keywords into links if you don't want it.

By custom plugin, are you talking about having one made?

I looked at Slimlinks and that was the sort of thing i was looking for but if i understand it right you are limited to the affiliates in its program.

Yes I meant having one made (or making it yourself if you are adventurous.)

With skimlinks, yes you are limited to their affiliates but they are affiliates with virtually every online retailer that offers an affiliate program.
