Which for which? $bbuserinfo[] vs $userinfo[]

I'm trying to understand the methodology of the use of $bbuserinfo vs. $userinfo in the templates.

$userinfo data related user in this template's output, not global, not always available.

It should be pretty much global in any default vB templates.
