Error message when posting

Had to have my website moved to a different server - my server company took care of all migration of files, databases etc.

My forum seems to be working fine with one exception..... when posting a new thread or replying to a thread I am re-directed to a white screen page reading ...

Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in /home/njsurfta/public_html/forums/mobiquo/include/function_push.php on line 136

The thread and or reply is posted .... it just doesnt re-direct me back to the post.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I think that means that your current tapatalk is not compatible with your version of php.

Yep and to the OP I am thinking, edit the file - go to the line specified and see if there is a ampersand there - if there is, delete it.

Use notepad++ to edit php files.

The only thing is .... it didnt happen when using Tapatalk from my phone (which I do have installed) - it happened when at computer

There is no reference sign on a function call - only on function definitions. Function definitions alone are enough to correctly pass the argument by reference. As of PHP 5.3.0, you will get a warning saying that "call-time pass-by-reference" is deprecated when you use & in foo(&$a);. And as of PHP 5.4.0, call-time pass-by-reference was removed, so using it will raise a fatal error.

You need to go to the line specified in the warning and remove the ampersand.

I did just try to create a thread using tapatalk and received this error...

The tapatalk code gets included on certain hooks even if you're not using the app.

What Max suggested may work.

You must edit the function_push.php file. It is telling you exactly what you need.

Remove the ampersand from line 136 of that file.

Yeah, Max has a good suggestion, but the reason I didn't get in to that is because there might be other issues besides that message, I don't know. It woul be better if you could upgrade, but I really don't know much about it, I only knew that the mobiquo directory was for tapatalk.

I installed Tapatalk so long ago that i forgot that it used that directory
