I guess this is a pretty basic question but how valuable do you think a Search Engine Optimization plugin is? What does this do for you? I just purchased a site that had VBSEO. I'm not sure if it works any longer. Any product recommendations?

It can be helpful, especially since you were already running one. vBSEO is dead and has known security issues, I would suggest going with this mod, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=308615

Starting with version 4 of vBulletin, it's pretty optimized right out of the box. One of the big reasons VBSEO went belly up.
