Default Is blocking vb staff allowed?

Are there any rules against blocking one of vb's staff if they annoy the 8#$%^ out of you ?

Gary was referring to this thread, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=307583

Nothing in there for a admin to take action on, just annoyed Gary.

Taking someones post completely off topic by a vb staff member and then, referring to the content of a reply as "quite silly" to me warrants an ignore.

Yeahbut Gary... in the military the first thing they give us is a thick skin. Not criticizing you here friend, just saying - I've had far worse from staff here than what Zachary gave you, and the best thing to do really is watch them shut their blowholes and slink away, when you are proven right.

Which is exactly what happened.

The staff here except for a Limey and one short guy are excellent, personable, and will bend over backwards to help people and are good examples for the most part, for people like me to follow. Plus they more times than not, expand our knowledge. They're well worth keeping off a ignore list IMO.

Max I had a thick skin when I was a PV1. In my later years as a 1st Sgt. I did not allow any disrespect towards me or my troops. I'm 60 years old and before I'll let someone disrespect me like that It'll just give me good reason to ignore them. I have a handful on here that I actually enjoy working with. Between them there is nothing they can't resolve with vb. I only wish there was more I could do for them. I have a relationship with those people. If either of them had said the same thing, I would have taken it in a different light. We can cut up and still get stuff done. But, for someone I have no history with buck up their big badge and try to play bad cop with me, that ain't going to cut it with me.

I think this has all run it's course. I've got a site to work on.

I'm not very far behind you in age Gary, and I learned in life that the whole concept of being offended or angered has really been twisted the last couple of decades, and here's my take on it.

I am not responsible if you are offended. No one is, except yourself.

"Huh? But.... But... They PISSED ME OFF!" - You might say or be thinking.

No.

They did or said the thing, but you still had the power to choose if you were going to be offended or not.

Did they somehow rob you of your free will? Of course not.

If I am angered or offended, it's strictly on me because I made the choice to be angered or offended. Same for you. You made that choice.

You have the same option to choose not to be offended, or angered, whatever it is.

They do the thing, what you do after that is on you.

And that's the memo.
