Upgrading 4.2.2 into Vb5 connect
Hello everyone,
I have just recently bought a license of vb5 connect, still new to this product just wanna ask on how to upgrade my previous forum into vb5. steps and procedures. a helpful link may be useful Thanks |

It is also strongly suggested to do an upgrade on your test site first so you can see if there are any issues and also so you can get familiar with the software before using it on a live site.

I think you're gonna rue the day you did that. Have you asked yourself the simple question, "What is the compelling reason to 'upgrade' to a Beta version of vBulletin that is radically different than the one I have now, which NONE of my add ons or plugins will mesh with, which if i read around i will find people having terrible issues with, and all of which regret making this change and lament the impossibility of going back?"
Must be one hell of a good, compelling reason and i would love to hear it. |

Definitely make a backup. Most people I know are sorry they upgraded and were very grateful that they were able to revert thanks to backup
|

But... What is the compelling reason for upgrade anyway? I'm yet to see that question answered.

ummmm im installing new/fresh database... now is it possible to import the forum/members and post only? ( From vbulletin 4.2.2 database ) .

As far as I know, Impex does still not support vB5. So, the answer is probably no.
There's probably just not enough people wanting to import anything into vB5 to warrant support even after > 1 year. |
