Any VB Mod that will allow users to have their own vip section within the forum?
Just curios if this does even exists ,or if is possible to be done !
What i wanted to do is to let "Users" to have their own Vip section in my forum where they can add stuff that they want to sell , anything from software ,scripts, wso, ebooks ,etc..., so they will have access to that section only (and the admin of the main site of course) , so is like to have their own side of the ftp / upload folder , and also in the setting to be option ,where they can buy their vip package , and pay them one time fee or recurring monthly , and for them to be able to put their own paypal email and get paid directly. As for as the main forum ,to take some fee or some % from the users that want to have the vip sections into our main forum. Thank you for any advice or a way to get this done , with a vb mod or...? Regards. M. |

You need to create a forum/section, then create a usergroup with a specific set permissions. You can also make that usergroup a subscription for it.
Then visit this forum/section permission list and edit the usergroups of who can access this section or not. It is pretty simple. - See Forum & Moderators section in the admin cp left side > Forum Permissions - See Usergroups. And if you want to create Ranks for the vip usergroup or any usergroup, see User Ranks in the admin cp left side. Ex http://forum.nihonomaru.com/newbies-...bers-ranks.25/ |

It takes time to set everything up but worth it at the end. Keep going don't give up after the first one. Would not be much point in putting a forum up if we all gave up after some hard work.

O, i did not give up ! but little confusing with this permissions... i don't get it how , exactly will this work!,
So i made 'New category in forum" like this: Cat1 *Sub1 (now this should have access only a user vip that will sell his stuff and his paid subscribers) *Sub2 (this is the same as above ,but a different user and of course different paid subscribers) Paid subscribers will choose whatever want to get subscription at sub1 or sub2 , it all depends in what both sub1 and sub2 is selling... and so on,for sub3,4,5... That's what i want to achieve. Now in the permissions and usersgroups ,i think this is where i am lost. Thank you! Regards. |

Two ways to handle it from here, 'user access masks' or 'secondary user groups'.
Start by creating 'secondary user groups' for each vip section and assign them to particular forums using admincp->forum permissions. Once you get the basic functionality worked out, and if it is not restricted enough, then you might need user access masks. User access masks are more time consuming for an Admin, and on a large board, helper routines usually are written to automate the process. |
