Restrict posting after hours?
Hi, I've searched but can't seem to find anything that does this, I need a function whereby I can prevent a member from posting during a certain time period. Reason being is one of our highly respected members that is very valuable to the forum tends to make a lot of stupid posts in the early hours when he's been drinking, so I want to be able to prevent him from making posts between 10pm and 6am for example.

Yeah... having issues with massive kidney stones- been in and out the last month. Today they plan to put a drain in my kidney through my back to let it drain (and an infection drain) and will operate in a few weeks.
Hope to be home later today, been here over a week on this stay already. If I were home I would have converted this to VB3, I think I put in some VB3 code thinking I would do it eventually. The main issue is going to be the data type used in the Admin CP settings (the expandable array) isn't part of VB3, so it will need to be just a big multi-line text box.

Thanks BOP5, get well soon.
It would be nice if it could just prevent him from posting instead of actual banning, I think that would be quite upsetting and may alienate the person, whereas an explanation with a simple time restriction to prevent posting might be better, not sure if it's possible though? Thanks.

You can move them to a usergroup without permission to post rather than be banned.
I was wrong, the admin cp code does work on VB 3.x... so a vb3 version should be fairly easy.

I didn't forget about this... Unfortunately VB3 lacks the hook VB4 has and means this pretty much needs a major rewrite to work on VB3 best I can tell.
