What tables in vB4 would need backing up for threads / posts / users?

U should post in the correct forum.

There are many tables that need backing up to retain all the correct info for your accounts, posts & threads.

Do a full backup nightly of ALL tables.

Anthony is right - so many of the tables interact with each other that you really can't just backup a couple of them. You should do full backups nightly.
