Is it possible to have some way of having a decent file sharing system, where users can upload files to a single space and it would be accessible to all as one complete listing, rather than the existing attachments listing ? (something like hyperwave)

Do what we did, integrate SlavaNap with vBulletin.

Its not done yet however. And boy oh boy was it painful.
