Possible Slider Effect (Forum Width)

Hey guys, I was wondering if it is possible or if there is any kinda plugin that is out already that does this but I wanted to have the ability for users on my site to select either a fluid or fixed version of the style we are using however not by selecting a new style via the bottom.

Basically I would have arrows and text that would say " <-- Expand -->" and when the user clicks it; the forum display/forum home would actually expand into a fluid version right there almost like a slide effect. And then the same method for fluid to fixed.

I've seen this kind of thing on sites that are running MyBB but was wondering if it were possible for vbulletin.
