Where can I edit if a usergroup receives email updates for replies to thread etc?

My users are saying they can't turn this option off?

Under general settings, look for Messaging & Notification

The *users* need to go to their Settings > General Settings > Messaging & Notifications and turn it off.

Apparently it won't let them turn it off - if they select disable it keeps re enabling.

admincp/Maintenance/Execute SQL Query
in the drop down pick do not subscribe then click continue then continue again
then in options/User Registration Options scroll down to the bottom
Automatic Thread Subscription Mode make sure the first one is Do not subscribe
