How to do this? BBCodes in Posts

Trying to do what these guys are doing:

Mainly the [DECK] and [CARD] function, also how they do :name: producing an icon effect.

Any links or direction to a tutorial how to do this is greatly appreciated

Things like [DECK] and [CARD] are done with bbcodes, in the admincp go to Custom BB Codes > BB Code Manager. Things like :name: are smilies. You would add those in the Smilie Manager (just above the BB Code Manager in the admincp).

Yeah, I know about those functions but it's the [DECK] that got me puzzeled - it can read multiple lines and ignore the numbers/integers. Seems very complicated to do that :O

Oh, yeah, I guess you can't really do that with just an html replacement. You can use a plugin and write php to handle a bbcode, if you know some programming.
