You can use the ad manager in the admincp.

The ad manager only contains a few placements by default, you can edit your style for more locations that are done manually.

If you dont have the adsense version of vb3 then you'd need to go to admincp --> style manager --> edit templates (from drop menu) --> (double click) ad location templates
