Forum backup question...
I am working on making a backup of my forum to a test site so I can test out upgrading from 4.1.1 to 4.2. I already have my database backup which is done nightly.
My question is, will I run into any issues just using my FTP program (Filezilla) to download my forum directory to my desktop then uploading it to my other domain? Also I won't need to shut down my forum when downloading this would I? Seems like a simple process? Running it on a different domain just so I absolutely cannot mix them up, will still be on the same dedicated server and behind htaccess. Thanks. |

You may want to disable the mail on your test server - or at least block outgoing mail
if it has internet access. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=277732 |

But other than that, no issues will be encountered? I just don't want to duplicate the folder on my main domain because I have a feeling I'll screw something up along the way
